When did you first come to Broadus? What made you want to return?

I first began coming to Broadus in the fall of my third year at UVA, after a professor of mine recommended it. (I’m pretty sure that I had visited at least 60% of the other churches in Charlottesville before this.) I was first attracted to the size and atmosphere of Broadus. It’s small enough to have a warm community feel, but not too small.

You can sense upon first entering the strength and depth of the fellowship that occurs here. After returning several times, I grew to appreciate the service mindedness of the ministry at Broadus, with ministries to local public housing communities, ministries through Habitat for Humanities, etc. My inner religious studies major was also thrilled to find a church where such theologians as Bonhoeffer and Augustine are studied as a means for personal spiritual growth.

Any other comments?
