Thy Kingdom Come…
…and other dangerous prayers.
Beginning April 13
Jesus talked a lot about something he called the “Kingdom of God.” In fact, he talked about it more than just about anything else.
He taught his disciples to pray about it, “Your Kingdom come, your will be done.”
He told great stories about it, comparing it to a pearl, a treasure, a field, a seed, a child.
He said it was not of this world, but that it was here within us and among us.
Some people got nervous about it. New kingdoms are not welcomed by those who benefit from existing kingdoms. Some of those people killed him.
But some people believed in Jesus. They believed in the Kingdom.
Some still do . . .
